Knitting up a storm

Whoa, long absence from posting, I've been busy making stuff, sewing, knitting and a wee bit of crochet.

I've really fallen in love with knitting recently. Back in Jan and Feb I knitted a chunky jumper. It's the sort of oversized jumper worn with skinny jeans which makes you look all cool and arty and perhaps a bit French? Well one of those, only it doesn't look like that when you are a bit 'over the hill' and *cough* not as slim as one was.....Basically I look like the Honey Monster, perhaps at some point when I feel brave I'll share a photo.

I've been spending a lot of time in Fife lately, which gives me a perfect excuse to visit my favourite yarn shop, The Woolly Brew in Pittenweem

On my last visit I spied a lovely display at the door, full of my favourite colours lime greens and blues.

The shop is always full of lovely samples, which inspire me. At Easter time, I spied a lovely light shawl sample, the  Spring Kerchief worked in Debbie Bliss Rialto Lace held double. It turned out OK I think, although there are a few yarn over holes where there shouldn't be which I have tried to hide with a bit of darning here and there.....

Around the same time I ordered some goodies from Namolio on Etsy (such yummy yarn and crochet bits and bobs), which included a crochet flower brooch which matches the shawl exactly!

Perfect spring colours, I love the yarn and I've started another, The Boneyard shawl by Stephen West in a sort of peach colour -  will share soon.
